Q: What should I do if the RIPping time seems extremely slow?

First, go into Control Panels and select Memory. Once in Memory, set cache size to 32K, virtual memory off, and RAM disk off.
When selecting the LaserWriter driver and Rainbow™ proofer in the Chooser, turn 'background printing' off.
When RIPping files, it is always good to make sure there is nothing else running that would share CPU time.
If RIPping speed is in question, it may also help to run with extensions off to ensure there are no conflicts.
